Excellence Does Not Come Easily or Quickly
Elder
Holland addressing students from BYU stated, "Excellence does not come
easily or quickly." The phrase gives me the idea to keep pursuing my goals
even when it is hard. Life is not easy, it is beautiful even with the
difficulties that come with it, but sometimes it feels that you are alone and
that you have given everything. But guess what? You are not alone, and you are
in the process of refinement. And that hurt, but it is possible thanks to the
Atonement of Christ. President Thomas S. Monson said, "Mortality is a period
of testing, a time to prove ourselves worthy to return to the presence of our
Heavenly Father. To be tested, we must sometimes face challenges and
difficulties." I know challenges are not so pretty, but I can testify,
they have been great sources of learning and strengthening. I can say,
difficulties make me humble myself and trust more in God.
I want to
remember the words of Elder Holland. He said, "Everything that we are
doing, it is shaping us to become what Heavenly Father sees in I am
asking you this morning not to give up “for ye are laying the foundation of a
great work.” That “great work” is you—your life, your future, the very
fulfillment of your dreams. That “great work” is what, with effort and patience
and God’s help, you can become." I am a “great work” and you are too. If I
trust God's plan and guidance, I will see a masterpiece, and I want to see it.
Another subject that I want to post is the 5 whys from Eric Ries. In the beginning, I could not understand the idea. Now I got it. I need to ask why 5 times until I find the root problem. This is something that I want to practice right away. I believe that I can make this a habit to solve problems and I like that.
When I was listening to David Carrington, I learned that
everything that happens has its purpose. I just need to see different
perspectives and find a solution. A work team helps to find better solutions.
If we team with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost imagine what
could happen. Please keep walking and keep trying even when it is hard.
